From the Premier
On behalf of the government of Nova Scotia, I am very pleased to welcome you to beautiful Cape Breton Island for the 107th Annual Canadian Association of Chiefs of Police Conference.

Cape Breton Island, one of the most scenic and friendly locations in the world, is a great destination for this conference. With a lively, fascinating culture and impressive scenery, I hope that you will take the time to discover why this island is internationally rated as a top destination.

As Premier of Nova Scotia, I recognize the value of police services, and the challenges you face on a daily basis – from the changing nature of crime to increasing costs. The theme of this year’s conference, “One Nation, Many Peoples: the Full Circle of Policing in Canada,” certainly speaks to these challenges. Nova Scotia has strong police services and solid law enforcement partnerships throughout the province, working together to make Nova Scotia an even better place to live.

I am confident this conference will allow police agencies and partners nationwide to share their skills and knowledge to uphold safe communities for all Canadian citizens. I applaud the association for continuing to make this conference a priority.

Best wishes on another successful conference, and enjoy your stay.

Sincerely,

Darrell Dexter, Q.C., M.L.A.
