As Mayor, it’s my pleasure to welcome all delegates of the 105th Annual Conference of the Canadian Association of Chiefs of Police to Edmonton, Alberta’s Capital City.

Committed to the protection of personal and community safety, the City of Edmonton is proud to host this event. With a population of over one million, Edmonton is culturally diverse, vibrant and economically resilient. As such, the security and safety of our citizens is one of our top priorities.

This year’s conference, “Policing Excellence Through Performance and Accountability” will undoubtedly have a significant impact on security policies all across Canada. With more than 300 Chiefs of Police and senior officers expected to attend, this will be one of the largest gatherings of senior police officials Edmonton has ever seen.

On behalf of City Council, and the people of Edmonton, we are looking forward to connecting with, and learning from, these esteemed officials. We are confident that improved and efficient forms of policing discussed at this conference will have a positive impact on our community.
