ALBERTA
SOLICITOR GENERAL AND MINISTER OF PUBLIC SECURITY
Message From The Honourable Frank Oberle
Solicitor General and Minister of Public Security
Welcome to the 105th Annual Conference for the Canadian Association of Chiefs of Police. For more than a century, this conference has served as a forum to explore professional best practices, strengthen networks, and speak with other experts about keeping our communities safe.
Over those years, policing and crime have changed dramatically, especially in recent years as electronics and other sophisticated technologies have enhanced both our ability to fight crime, and the nature of the crimes committed. It is to your credit that despite these changes you have continued to meet the growing expectations of the communities you serve.
This year's conference program offers an exciting range of topics to challenge and stimulate discussion on many levels, and the next two days will undoubtedly be very fulfilling. I encourage you to take the opportunity to seek out new ideas, share your own experiences and solutions, and work together with your colleagues for a better future for all Canadians.
Enjoy the conference and your time in Edmonton.
