of the 2017 Canadian
Association of Chiefs of Police (CACP) Annual
Conference to be held in Montréal, Québec July 16 – 19, 2017. Hosted by the Service
de police de la Ville de Montréal (SPVM), an audience of over 275 delegates and
over 125 exhibiting companies is anticipated.
Association’s interests and concerns have relevance to police at all levels
including municipal, regional, provincial, federal and First Nations. Many
initiatives and work of the Association and its committees throughout the year
are reported on at the Annual Conference where recommendations are tendered and
resolutions adopted. In many cases, these form the basis of the Association’s
ongoing work on behalf of the policing community and the society that it
dedicated to the support and promotion of efficient law enforcement and to the
protection and security of the people of Canada.Much of the work in pursuit of these goals is
done through the activities and special projects of a number of committees and
through active liaison with various levels of government and departmental
ministries having legislative and executive responsibility in law and policing.
